Being a parent has never been easy, but the stresses in today’s world can make it even more challenging. To make it a little less difficult, AVCS offers parenting and co-parenting classes. Please see below for more information.

2026-2027 Parenting Class Schedule

Fall 2026:
Pre-School Class – Mondays, Sept. 14 – Oct. 26 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
School-Age Class – Tuesdays, Sept. 15 – Oct. 27 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
Teenage Class – Wednesdays, Sept. 16 – Oct. 28 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
Co-Parenting Class – Thursdays, Sept. 17 – Nov. 5 (8 Weeks), 6-8pm
Winter 2027:
Pre-School Class – Mondays, Jan. 11 – Feb. 22 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
School-Age Class – Tuesdays, Jan. 12 – Feb. 23 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
Teenage Class – Wednesdays, Jan. 13 – Feb. 24 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
Co-Parenting Class – Thursdays, Jan. 14 – Mar. 4 (8 Weeks), 6-8pm
Spring 2027:
Pre-School Class – Mondays, Mar. 22 – May 3 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
School-Age Class – Tuesdays, Mar. 23 – May 4 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
Teenage Class – Wednesdays, Mar. 24 – May 5 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
Co-Parenting Class – Thursdays, Mar. 25 – May 13 (8 Weeks), 6-8pm
Summer 2027:

School-Age Class – Tuesdays, June 8 – July 20 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
Teenage Class – Wednesdays, June 9 – July 21 (7 Weeks), 6-8pm
Co-Parenting Class – Thursdays, June 10 – July 29 (8 Weeks), 6-8pm

Positive Parenting Classes
***All classes will be conducted online via Zoom until further notice***
PARENTS… are you ready to STEP up to the challenge of parenting?
If the answer is YES, join a 7-week class based on the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) model.
You will learn:
- How to build self-esteem and responsibility
- How to talk so children will listen and listen so children will talk
- How to implement discipline vs. punishment
- How to resolve conflicts so everyone wins
Classes are for the parents of Preschool, School Age and Teenage children.
Classes are held one night a week for seven weeks from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Cost: $175.00 per person or $200.00 per couple (includes all materials)
Cooperative Parenting Class
How to Parent as a Team When You Are No Longer a Couple!
***All classes will be conducted online via Zoom until further notice***
8-week course
Goals of the Program:
- Assist parents in shifting their roles from former spouses to co-parents
- Educate parents about children’s issues in divorce
- Educate parents regarding the impact of parental conflict on their children’s development
- Teach parents anger management, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Classes are held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Cost of the class is $200.00 per person which includes all materials. Full eight-week course yields a certificate of completion which will satisfy court recommendations. $225.00 per couple for individual & new spouse or significant other. Co-parents do not attend the same class.
